The first time I held a guitar ....

I could get a sound out of it!
It was simple and rhythmic but it was the first time that I played a guitar.
I never had a guitar lesson or knew anything about music but I did manage to get a sound that impressed the other 5 year old kids that were surrounding me.

A kid bought it to school one day to show everyone his new birthday present. It was one of those little nylon string jobs from Kmart. That was in 1973.

I've been playing guitar ever since and it's been wonderful. It has shaped my life, the way I view the world and has given me happiness. I've made a dollar or two out of it also.

I taught it for many years, I gigged with it and recorded it. But what is "it" exactly?
It is the guitar, the one we play within. The part of you that needs to turn up a marshall and just play. That's what it is, it's you. It's me. It's a voice. "IT's LOUD!"

This is my first blog and my first post.
Like that little kid that I was, I intend to get good at blogging and I hope that you, the reader gets something out of it also. Not unlike a performance, I want this blog to enlighten you and entertain you and I hope that you can participate it this new venture.

I have so much to talk about so keep dropping by. I'll help you find that sound!
